Seriously, this makes me hnnng.
This is the Valmet Raceabout, designed and built by Helsinki Polytechnic with input from University of Art and Design in Helsinki, powered by a 245 hp (later 270 hp) Saab turbocharged inline 4 mounted in the middle, custom fiberglass body (later became carbon fiber), and it never made production (but it did get featured in a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , which accurately replicates it, so, close enough?).
Here's a couple of the real cars in action (there's 3 cars, one from 2000, another from 2002-2003, and yet another from 2005):

Didn't know this one! It's noot the only MR-roadster Valmet built. Production of the Boxster and Cayman is done at Valmet's as well.

Wouldn't be surprised if this was used as the base for them.

Were you aware of its newest iteration, the ERA (Electric Raceabout)? It lapped Nurburgring in 8:23.56 few years ago.

The guy who used to sit in this same place where I'm currently sitting did his graduation work by building the first carbon fiber body for that thing. He left our company to manufacture electric buses.
I remember correctly the just updated the car so the 02/03 version and the 2005 version are actually the same car.
Valmet-Automotive helped them financially a lot but basically it is a student project and not Valmet-Automotive's project at all.

I imaging that the input from University of Art and Design in Helsinki was, "Do not make it look like that."

yeah, I figured, I know this car simply as "RaceAbout" because that's what the game it's in calls it (it's also my favourite in the game), did not expect Valmet to be the "brand" for it, until I searched it up.
